Schedule: Monday - Thursday

Will be in Texarkana, TX 3 day`s per week and 1 day in Marshall, Tx.


Under general supervision, performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures for OB/Gyn clinic, following established policies and protocols.


SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures following established policies and protocols.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures that require operation of real-time and portable equipment as well as multiple imaging modalities on patients of all ages.
  • Positions patients appropriately for test being performed following established protocols.
  • Explains procedures and positioning to patients.
  • Monitors and maintains essential patient care and safety during procedures; applies safety principles as identified by established policy.
  • Selects and operates equipment; selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.
  • Discerns the correct examination to be performed by a combination of exam ordered, clinical history, and patient condition.
  • Provides test results to patient’s physician and other appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Performs daily quality control of equipment and other quality assurance/quality control activities as required.
  • Maintains department statistics and records.
  • Maintains inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Prepares room for diagnostic procedures.
  • Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices.
  • Ensures compliance with legal issue including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited medical diagnostic sonography program.
  • Registration by ARDMS or ARRT.
  • Current CPR Certification.

Preferred

  • One to two years related experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
