New York, United States Ordaos Bio Full time
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout us

Ordaōs is a human-enabled, machine-driven drug design company. Our flagship solution, mini-PRO™, is a bespoke class of mini-proteins that help pharma and biotechs around the world deliver safer and more effective life-saving treatments at a fraction of the time of traditional discovery methods. miniPRO proteins are created and evaluated in silico, and then rigorously tested in vitro and in vivo. At Ordaōs, we are changing the paradigm from drug discovery to drug design.

The Role

Our Protein Assay Development group is seeking to hire an Associate Scientist to become an integral part of the biologics drug development effort. We are searching for candidates who think critically and possess the desire and ability to learn new techniques. This position demands adaptability and the ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment. A qualified candidate will have broad technical experience in molecular biology and the utilization of in vitro models to evaluate the efficacy of biologics drug candidates.

Due to the nature of wet lab work, this position will primarily be on-site at our lab in New York City (SoHo).

The position will report to the Principal Scientist of Protein Assay Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing standard in vitro and cell-based activity assays for evaluating the efficacy of biologics drug candidates.
  • Participating in cross-functional teams and the development and implementation of new technology.
  • Preferential knowledge of instrumentation – liaison with field application specialists.
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations to communicate experimental outcomes to internal teams and senior management.
  • Presenting information and data in both written and verbal forms.
  • Documenting experimental and process data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the biological sciences (e.g., Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field)
  • 1-3 years of relevant postgraduate research or work experience.
  • Hands-on experience working with molecular biology.
  • Strong ability in execution and obtaining results independently.
  • Familiarity with ELN platforms, ideally with Benchling.
  • Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Desire to join a fast-paced leading company at the intersection of A.I. and drug design.

Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Experience working with automated liquid handling in a wet lab

Benefits

  • Opportunity for ISO grants upon offer and milestones
  • Competitive healthcare coverage through Oxford Healthcare, dental and vision through Guardian Healthcare
  • HSA (health savings account) program with maximum employer annual contribution
  • 401k (traditional and Roth offered) with 100% match up to first 4% of pay
  • 15 days paid vacation and 5 sick days per year, in addition to 12 company paid holidays or floating holidays
  • Free annual corporate membership to Citibike
  • Monthly commuter benefits up to $130
  • 4 weeks of paid "Compassionate Leave" for unforeseen or events that cause trauma or burden

Salary Range: 60k-80k

(based on education and prior experience)
