Summary

Lead teachers shall ensure all curriculum is prepared for classroom instruction, adapt instruction methods to the needs and abilities of all students, communicate in a positive and professional manner to all students and families, and serve as a mentor to instructional teaching assistants.

Duties

We are looking for an organized, approachable lead toddler teacher to join our team. The lead toddler teacher's responsibilities include formulating and implementing curricula to meet the basic and educational needs of toddlers. In this position, you will also be required to supervise teaching staff, track and report on students' progress, and ensure that classes remain safe and conducive to learning.
To ensure success as a lead toddler teacher, you should be compassionate and able to work well under pressure. Top-notch lead toddler teachers should liaise with other departments to advance the school's objectives, and should remain up-to-date with advances in early childhood development research.

  • Designing and implementing curricula that cater to the basic and educational needs of age group
  • Training, supervising, and mentoring teachers to ensure that they perform well.
  • Adhering to appropriate legal and educational guidelines to maintain children's well-being.
  • Conducting child assessments to gauge students' progress.
  • Documenting and reporting on students' process.
  • Establishing relationships with each family to ensure that their child's needs are met.
  • Organizing and engaging in occasional team-building activities.


Requirements

Teachers (Monday - Friday, 8:30-12:30pm and all school functions)
A.All new employees shall serve a 60-day probationary period, at the end of which time the employment will be considered regular or terminated.The Director shall schedule regular periods of observation during the probationary period, with ongoing feedback to the employee.Two-week written notice either from the school or the teacher must be given in case of termination.
B.All teacher staff shall read and comply with all guidelines and protocols outlined in the Staff Handbook.
C.Shall hold a degree (preferably in Early Childhood Education) or have experience working with young children in an early educational environment.
D.Shall be employed for a 10-month period with core hours being 8:30am - 12:30pm.
E.Shall attend and be willing to assist in the preparation of all school functions, fundraisers and fellowship events.
F.Teachers shall be categorized as Age-Group Leader, Lead Classroom Teacher or Instructional Teaching Assistant based on education, experience and leadership qualities.
G. Proven experience planning and developing curricula
H. Prior experience teaching
I. Physically fit and able to lift up to 70 pounds.
J. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
K. Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
L. Able to attend meetings during afternoon/evenings, as needed.
M. A keen interest in early childhood education.
