We are currently seeking a Custodian to join our team

Job Summary: Responsible for providing custodial services and maintenance of commercial and residential properties.

Hours: Monday-Friday: 5:30 am - 1 pm

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Perform custodial services at two office buildings, emergency shelter facility, and common spaces at two apartment buildings.
• Adhere to cleaning schedule to ensure all spaces are cleaned regularly.
• Assist Facilities staff by cleaning apartment units to prepare for new tenants and property inspections as needed.
• Provide additional cleaning services on as-needed basis when issues arise.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and coordinate with Office Manager to order supplies when needed.
• Attend and participate in departmental, organization-wide and other meetings.
• Act in the best interest of the organization, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration and mutual respect.
• Carry Action Inc. cell phone for emergency calls and routine communication.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Organized and efficient in work practices.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills; ability to interact with staff and building tenants in respectful manner.
• Ability to perform tasks with tools and ladders in a safe, effective manner.
• Willing to work early mornings or evenings; specific schedule to be determined.
• High degree of ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

• Three years of relevant work experience.
• Custodial experience, preferably in large commercial and/or residential setting, preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds, climb and work on ladders work with arms raised over head, stand/walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend at waist and knees, etc.
