Job Title: Precision Agronomist
Location: Southwest MN
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly organized and data-driven Precision Agronomist to join their team. The Precision Agronomist will play a critical role in developing and implementing precision technology solutions, sustainability plans, and operational processes to enhance farm productivity and efficiency. This position involves collaborating closely with the agronomy team, managing data integrity, and driving process improvements to support the companys agronomic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management and Analysis:
- Collect agronomic data to generate sustainability plans, profitability insights, and scenario development for improvements and revenue opportunities
- Track and report on grower contract progress and execute contracts tied to program enrollment, providing regular updates to key business and field team members
- Develop new data tracking metrics, including acres of engagement, surveys, program targets, and progress towards milestones
Process Development and Optimization:
- Own the strategy and approach to managing the enrollment grower journey and develop new processes leveraging technology and analytics to improve workflows
- Envision and propose new ways to simplify processes to meet the operational needs of a scaling and growing business, tied to farmer engagement
Education and Outreach:
- Develop and implement workshops and field days designed to educate growers, farm-related, and grower-led organizations on best practices and innovative systems that benefit natural resource quality and farm productivity
- Serve as a liaison between the field and other support teams to address concerns on data integrity and tracking
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work cooperatively as a team player, participating in regular meetings with sales agronomists, sales managers, and the rest of the agronomy team to share ideas and better serve customers
- Support other business units with status reporting and data to support goal setting and measurement towards achievement of those goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in data management and a strong understanding of precision agriculture technologies and analytics
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly, handle multiple projects, and work both independently and collaboratively
- Must possess meticulous record-keeping skills and be comfortable working with individuals of varied ages and social backgrounds
- Flexibility to adapt to changing duties as the needs of the area evolve
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel as needed within the assigned territory
- Valid drivers license and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
