You will be responsible for doing diagnostic assessments, making customized treatment plans with goals and objectives, providing crisis intervention as needed, and following up with patients to ensure they are receiving appropriate ongoing care. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of clinical experience working with mental health patients as well as a current LMHC (licensed mental health counselor) license. $40 - $55 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Work with patients to develop individualized treatment plans with goals and objectives
  • Evaluate patients’ circumstances on a regular basis and provide necessary follow-up care
  • Recommend community services or specialists for patients and family members in need
  • Assess patients’ mental condition based on review of medical information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members
  • Perform clinical assessments and diagnose mental health conditions
  • Assess client needs and work collaboratively within the practice and community
  • Meet with clients weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly, depending on the assessment of needs
Qualifications:
  • CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications are required
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting working as a mental health therapist
  • Current and unrestricted state license as an LMHC (licensed mental health counselor) or equivalent
  • This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a bachelor’s degree in a field such as counseling or social work; we prefer a master’s degree
  • Graduate degree and licensure in counseling, social work, or equivalent required

Calming Waters Counseling Services is a small, family-oriented private practice, where individuality is celebrated. We seek to provide the highest level of counseling services in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. We have two locations - Cotswold and a new location in East Charlotte. We are person-centered and place value on all relationships. The team is motivated, ethical, and clinically driven. We work together and support each other within the outpatient setting.
