We are seeking a District Manager to champion the vision for Verona Collective and be responsible for all day-to-day business operations of multiple dispensaries, including mentoring management staff, driving consistent attention to compliance standards and operational efficiencies, and executing the strategic plan to drive revenues and profitability. This position requires a desire for continued excellence and a drive for consistent sales growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales and operations of multiple Verona Collective dispensaries, as assigned.
  • Guide and direct Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers to ensure all sites are focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving revenue opportunities, and following standard operating protocols.
  • Perform weekly dispensary inspections of retail stores with a focus on guest experience, brand standards, and performance management.
  • Work daily alongside team members ensuring excellent guest service standards are met and that all Verona Collective processes are followed.
  • Communicate opportunities to improve performance standards directly to the Director of Retail for consideration.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor the management team. Ensure that all new team members follow a robust onboarding program.
  • Responsible for the completion of annual performance reviews.
  • Oversee adherence to all Verona Collective procedures and standards, ensuring the successful daily operations of all programs at each location.
  • Develop short and long-range goals and objectives for each dispensary in collaboration with the Director of Retail.
  • Manage full profit and loss accountability for all dispensaries in the district (on an aggregate and individual basis).
  • Control expenses and oversee weekly dispensary schedules to ensure adherence and to guide any needed changes. Review with the Director weekly and make recommendations for adjustments to the labor model based on business levels to ensure maximum labor efficiency at each dispensary.
  • Address team member concerns, along with the guidance of the Director and the People & Culture Team Member Advisor.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels for each dispensary by overseeing all inventory processes, including ordering, maintaining, and adjusting par levels as needed, overseeing all retail product audits, and ensuring that variances are thoroughly investigated and brought to conclusion.
  • Oversee the accurate upload of deliveries into the retail POS system.
  • Providing inventory system coaching and guidance to team members and overseeing item master maintenance to ensure product and inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible for reporting inventory variances to the Cannabis Commission as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate cash-handling procedures for each dispensary by overseeing all inventory processes and maintaining and adjusting cash par levels as needed.
  • Serve as a key player in loss prevention, internal theft, and inventory shrink. Notify the Director and People & Culture Team Member Advisor of any occurrences of theft or inventory shrink immediately.
  • Oversee mystery shoppers and direct guest feedback/survey programs functionality and continuous improvement efforts for each dispensary.
  • Respond to guest complaints and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Appropriately delegate tasks to Store Managers with plans for following up on key tasks as needed.
  • Provide performance management for all management personnel, primarily focusing on Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers.
  • Complete any daily paperwork and computer entry in a timely manner as established by management.
  • Ensure delivery of weekly dashboard of key retail metrics as directed by the Director of Retail.
  • Ensure execution of the safety, security, and retail operations policies and procedures.
  • Analyze results and trends in business operations and develop action plans in collaboration with the Director to improve dispensary performance.
  • Monitor cannabis retail competition through selective physical visits and digital visits to websites, ordering platforms, etc., resulting in making recommendations for business improvements to the Director of Retail.
  • Promote future growth by executing company strategies.
  • Effectively communicate company strategies and initiatives to Store Managers and dispensary team members.
  • Communicate regularly and directly with the Director of Retail.
  • Assume responsibility for special assignments and projects as needed.

Requirements


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or management-related field preferred with 2+ years of retail management experience
  • Multi-unit management experience is required.
  • Experience within the cannabis industry is strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising employees is required, preferably in the cannabis industry.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with a diverse set of personalities and learning styles.
  • Must be able to assist with efforts to maintain full store operations during inclement weather conditions and unpleasant working conditions.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office and the ability to work with various cannabis-specific platforms as directed.
  • Strong focus on guest service, working with people, and commitment to teamwork.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and managerial skills.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate with team members, guests, and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, and must be detail-oriented.
  • Ethical, honest, trustworthy, respectful, compassionate, supportive and patient.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed and required by the role and the Director of Retail.
  • Must be able to complete Verona Collective dispensary training.
