Application Solution Architect

Play a crucial role in designing and implementing innovative solutions to meet the complex requirements of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Architect and oversee the development of applications on the ServiceNow platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scalability, and security standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical support, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Position Overview: PTI is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager/ScrumMaster to support our client, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This is a remote position, contingent upon award, offering the opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to meaningful projects in the healthcare sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Architect end-to-end solutions for applications on the ServiceNow platform, considering business requirements, technical feasibility, and best practices, and design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that align with OIG's objectives and adhere to industry standards.

Provide technical support and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle, and mentor developers on architectural principles, design patterns, and coding standards to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Serve as a subject matter expert on the ServiceNow platform, including its capabilities, limitations, and integration possibilities. Stay updated on new features and functionalities of the platform and recommend their adoption where appropriate.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and system administrators, to gather requirements and define technical solutions. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and applications.

Ensure that application solutions adhere to HHS-OIG's security and compliance standards, including HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. Implement security controls and mechanisms to protect sensitive data and mitigate cybersecurity risks.

Identify opportunities to optimize the performance of applications on the ServiceNow platform, including code refactoring, caching strategies, and database optimization. Conduct performance testing and tuning to ensure optimal responsiveness and scalability.

Document architectural designs, technical specifications, and deployment procedures for applications on the ServiceNow platform and establish and enforce governance processes to ensure compliance with architectural standards and guidelines.

Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of application development on the ServiceNow platform and drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline development processes and increase productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Application Solution Architect, preferably in a ServiceNow environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of application architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Strong expertise in the ServiceNow platform, including custom application development, module customization, and integration capabilities.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Certification in ServiceNow Application Development or Architecture (e.g., Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist) is a plus.
