WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Permit Processor will represent Dunaway in processing plats, plans, and permits with clients and government agencies. This role will also evaluate applications, gather research, process permits, and coordinate meetings.

Once selected to join our team, you will:

  • Evaluates and assists in applications for rezoning, site plans, and other planning and design projects
  • Gathers research information such as land use constraints, site plans, subdivision plats, construction plans, utility records, infrastructure improvements, adjacent land uses related to land development, and site conditions including geographic location, soil, vegetation, natural features, drainage, and structures for use in writing feasibility studies
  • Processes permits with government jurisdictions
  • Assists civil engineers and planners with preparing and submitting development applications for jurisdictional review
  • Updates and maintains project application progress data to ensure consistency and responsiveness
  • Coordinates meetings with jurisdictional staff members, architects, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Organizes all regulatory requirements and project development application-related information

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, Suite 360
  • Strong graphic communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong technical writing skills concerning the preparation of project development applications

SKILLS:

  • Excellent oral and interpersonal skills to communicate rules, procedures, and project concepts.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to complete multiple assignments and maintain project deadlines successfully through effective multi-tasking and prioritizing in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed.
  • Must be highly detailed and task-oriented.
  • Ability to work with a team or independently as needed.
  • Knowledge of the general project development application process.
  • Ability to advocate for client and firm needs while maintaining professional relationships with jurisdictional staff.
  • Working diligently to expedite jurisdictional approval and project timelines.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years of experience in development, real estate, or a related field.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Studies, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
