Reprocessing Technician

We are seeking a full-time Reprocessing Technician to join our clinical team

This role is responsible for cleaning and preparing endoscopy instruments and equipment and assisting as needed. Additional duties include participating in inventory control and reordering, preparing and turning over endoscopy rooms and assisting in patient flow through the unit. Maintains autoclave and disinfectant logs. Sends endoscopy equipment out for repair. Assists with data entry and preparation of charts. Participates in QA programs and in-services, staff meeting and contributes to the clinical EPEC team.

Education/Certifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• CPR/BLS Certification
• Willingness to travel between endoscopy sites as needed

Experience:

• Minimum of one year of endoscopy, reprocessing/processing GI equipment experience preferred with a working knowledge of medical terminology and Infection Control guidelines.
• Previous experience maintaining equipment and ordering supplies

Work Environment/Mental/Physical Requirements: Ambulatory surgery clinical setting. Direct patient contact. Medium duty. 50 pounds, maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Requires standing for long periods while sitting for others. Repetitive hand/arm movements. Required to wear appropriate PPE. Assisting patients on and off procedure tables.
