PRIMARY PURPOSE: As a dispatcher, your primary responsibility will be to act as a point of contact between customers and drivers, ensuring that all communication is handled in a timely and professional manner. Receive incoming calls, emails, and messages from customers and drivers, responding promptly and professionally. This position is responsible for the daily coordination of quality services deliveries/pick-ups for customers, and additional services providing an exceptional customer experience for both our external and internal customers. Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, including weight restrictions, hazardous materials regulations, and special handling instructions.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with dispatching software and other relevant tools
Responsibilities
  • Communicates and provides instruction to drivers (schedules, route changes, road conditions, accidents, emergencies, etc.),
  • Provide drivers guidance on a variety of situations that may impact their scheduled services or deliveries.
  • Track the location of drivers in real time and provide updates to customers and drivers as needed
  • Handle any issues or complaints that arise from customers or drivers, working to resolve them quickly and effectively
  • Maintain accurate records of all communication and transactions with customers and drivers
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times, and strive to exceed customer expectations
  • Keep the Office Manager updated on issues and resolution of issues.
  • Support drivers via all communication options during reported emergencies and provide appropriate resources to assist with issues.
  • Work with the customer service department and account managers on scheduling deliveries or services.
  • Conducts route check-in to ensure that all information is complete so that it can be posted properly without questions.
  • Conducts necessary research to resolve account discrepancies and accurately document details for management.
  • Sequence routes & pick up, and deliveries daily.
  • Special/other projects as assigned by management.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the transportation field.

  • Well-organized & able to work under timelines & constraints
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Analytical, process-oriented, and ability to focus on details for long periods of time
  • Should be a resourceful person and perform in a professional manner.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, & other associates.
