Day Porter Responsibilities

Reports to: Operations Manager

Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities: Performs custodial work (Cleaning and trash removal) in offices, warehouses, conference rooms, restrooms, break rooms, hallways, stairwells, other building interiors and the building exterior.

Typical tasks performed include a combination of the following (but not limited to):

Sanitizing (policing) restrooms, emptying trash, dust mopping hallways, sweeping, vacuuming, spot mopping, spot cleaning carpet, dusting furniture, secured areas that are not accessible to evening staff and areas that must be serviced within certain time frames during the day. The Day Porter is also available to address any concerns that the customer may have.

1. Restroom cleaning: replenish dispensers (toilet tissue, soap, paper towels, sanitizer), empty trash/sanitary dispensers, sweep, spot mop, spot clean walls and partitions, clean fixtures to include toilets, sinks and urinals and dispensers (as needed)

2. Offices: (for secured areas) empty trash (change liners), dust furniture and windowsills/blinds, vacuum

3. Break Rooms/Kitchens: pull trash, wipe down counters, tables, chairs, sweep and spot mop (after breakfast and lunch). Secured areas must be completely cleaned before end of day porter shift.

4. Hallways: Dust mop hallways to remove dust and other debris. Be sure to sweep along corners/edges and behind doors. Spot mop as needed

5. Stairwells: sweep down stairs and landings. dust furniture, baseboards and frames. Disinfect/sanitize handrails and doors/door knobs

6. Exterior/ Entrance: Wash door glass and adjoining windows. Sweep entrance walkway

7. Ordering/Receiving: order supplies for maintaining facility cleanliness. Inspect and report equipment issues. Receive supplies and restock shelves. Report concerns to supervisor/project manager

8. Set up carts and brut barrels: re-line barrels, set up carts (with supplies) for next shift cleaning
