Duties
•To develop lesson plans and instructional materials to achieve the Trenton Board of Education and preschool educational goals and objectives.
•To promote creative, active learning in the classroom using provided curriculum and any other appropriate learning materials.
•To incorporate a variety of instructional materials that build on various learning styles.
•To provide a classroom climate that is warm and nurturing.
•To find ways to work collaboratively and creatively with parents/guardians and to engage them productively in the classroom.
•To communicate with parents through conferences and other means about the school program and to discuss student progress.
•To maintain records of students educational progress in class record books, portfolios and/or other approved forms.
•To maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service trainings, professional development workshops, and/or seminars.
•To participate in school level planning, faculty meetings/committees and other school system groups.
•To perform all other duties, which may be within the scope of employment, as assigned.
Requirements
•New Jersey Teaching Certificate P3/N-8 or Certificate of Eligibility
•Child CPR and First Aid certification.
•Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
