Kenton County Public Library of Covington, KY is seeking to hire a full-time Outreach Programmer. In Outreach, we increase accessibility and deliver uncompromising service, forging strong relationships in the community. You will help us be the premier partner for library resources, services, and programs to adults and seniors through our Homebound program in Kenton County. If you are looking for a career where you will impact the community, apply today Typical schedule is Monday- Friday, 8:30-5:00 with occasional weekends and evenings required.


Principle Responsibilities:

  • Consistently visits community partners to deliver library materials & services.
  • Meets patron needs by providing innovative and flexible access to Library resources.
  • Dreams big and follows through with impactful library outreach experiences to assisted-living facilities, retirement centers, and other community spaces.
  • Enthusiastically promotes Outreach Services and the Library to everyone.
  • No matter when or where, answers questions and aids patrons with information needs.
  • Creates a thoughtful monthly report focusing on impact in the community.
  • Collaborates with staff throughout KCPL for system-wide and team project work.
  • Assesses and evaluates programs, services, and collections for improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience working with seniors and/or individuals in memory care preferred.
  • Must believe in a spirit of hospitality and generosity towards patrons and coworkers.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills necessary.
  • Must be flexible and readily adaptable to change and innovation.
  • Must be able to define and solve problems.
  • Must be tech savvy.
  • Work at other KCPL locations required.
  • Obtain and maintain certification from the KY Department of Libraries and Archives.
  • Valid driver's license and means of transportation to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Following training, must drive and park Library vehicles.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and carry 10 ft. in distance; must be able to push/pull 100 lbs.
