Radio Frequency Tester III

This is a pivotal position for our team; internal and external customers, who is focused on supporting the program and its growth.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analyses, to include interpreting and summarizing results.
  • Installs, configures, operates, aligns, conducts performance tests, and performs unit and direct support maintenance on tactical communications equipment and associated devices.
  • Performs quality control tests on circuits, trunk groups, systems, and ancillary equipment; installs, operates, performs strapping, re-strapping, PMCS and unit level maintenance on COMSEC devices.
  • Configure the TSM (Tactical Scalable MANET) waveform for use on the Leader radio to include network and Radio Frequency configuration.
  • Configure and test the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) on the two channel Man Pack radios which is a new UHF SATCOM waveform currently being tested and fielded to the US Army and Navy.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Follow mission planning. Configure and operate tactical radios.
  • All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge in the utilization of Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, RF Signal Generators, Power Generators, Power Meters, and Firebirds.
  • Has an understanding of tactical radios to include configuring and operating tactical radios, waveforms, keying and certificated requirements, interoperability challenges, algorithms, DoD mission planning applications, etc.
  • Ability to work closely with our customers, senior management, program managers, and cross-discipline technical staff to lead and consult on various airborne RF SIGINT products and programs.
  • Experienced in supporting Field test activities.
  • Demonstratable experience in assisting with the development and/or evaluation of system specifications, vendor-provided requirements qualifications documents.
  • Able to write test plans and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate a respectful demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiar with UHF, VHF and SRW radio wave propagation.
  • Able to configure the TSM (Tactical Scalable MANET) waveform for use on the Leader radio to include network and Radio Frequency configuration.

Clearance:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Education & Experience:

  • 4-9 Years of experience.

Location:

  • Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.

Travel:

  • Travel requirements will fluctuate.
