In this Role you will:


Serve as the principal fundraising director and grant writer responsible for the planning, implementation and oversight of a comprehensive fundraising program that secures contributions (from individuals, foundations, corporations, and others) sufficient to sustain and expand IHFA’s philanthropic initiatives.

  • Manage major gift functions, including donor prospecting and research, cultivation and solicitation, gift strategies, and planned giving.
  • Manage donor relations, including tailored gift proposals, receivership, recordkeeping, and donor recognition.
  • Promote IHFA’s program and community investment opportunities by regularly engaging the philanthropic community, potential donors, community leaders, and other key stakeholders with education, collaboration, and effective tools to expand charitable giving for housing-related mission purposes.
  • Manage philanthropy-related communications, web content and design, social networking, print material, and other content to increase visibility, public perception and donor interest in programs and initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships where mission-based activities align and leveraged funding can occur.
  • Plan, convene, and/or participate in events and partnerships with key constituents and potential partners to advance IHFA’s philanthropic goals.
  • Build IHFA’s nonprofit partner fundraising capacity to sustain and expand mission objectives.
  • Manage Avenues for Hope through year-over-year growth in proceeds and impact.
  • Execute year-round nonprofit and sponsor recruitment to Avenues for Hope.
  • Carry out continuous engagement with Avenues for Hope’s donor base to highlight program impact.
  • Develop tools dedicated to increasing nonprofit success in donor engagement, storytelling, and overall funds raised.
  • Execute motivational and attention-grabbing kickoff and celebration events. Establish an Avenues for Hope event footprint in each region.
  • Ensure funds are used and invested in keeping with IHFA’s philanthropic principles and mission.
  • Adhere to contractual obligations, administer fund disbursements, and fulfill reporting requirements.
  • Execute proper fiscal management, including accurately and appropriately recording payables and receivables, and preparation of and adherence to an annual budget.
  • Maintain vendor agreement(s) for fundraising platform and campaign-specific pages. Continuously evaluate technology needs and effective fundraising tools.
  • May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field (business, marketing, communications, etc.) is required.
  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of full time fundraising, sales or development experience, sourcing and marketing to potential donors.
  • Extensive skills and experience in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies, as well as in creating a wide-range of marketing content (web, print, social, etc.) and managing social networking profiles.
  • Proficient in public speaking, including delivering presentations to executive-level audiences.
  • Holds a strong understanding of and connections in the philanthropic community.
  • An expert in crafting compelling narratives and storylines that align with the mission and goals or varying audiences.
  • Experience operating large multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns preferred.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication and facilitation skills are a must.
  • Experience with developing marketing material, managing social media and crafting professional narratives.
