Job Title: Vice President of Operations - Power Delivery
Job Summary:The Vice President of Operations - Power Delivery is a senior executive role responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of power delivery and substation construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring the successful execution of projects, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency, and driving operational excellence across the organization. The VP of Operations will lead multiple teams, including project management, field operations, and support functions, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement operational strategies for power delivery and substation projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of project managers, field supervisors, and operational staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to set and achieve operational goals, KPIs, and performance targets.
Project Execution:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of power delivery and substation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet or exceed client expectations.
- Implement best practices in project management, resource allocation, and risk management to drive project success.
- Monitor project performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure project continuity.
Safety & Compliance:
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all operations adhere to the highest safety standards and comply with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee the development and enforcement of safety protocols, conducting regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance.
- Ensure all projects comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry-specific guidelines.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:
- Drive operational efficiency by optimizing processes, reducing waste, and leveraging new technologies and methodologies.
- Lead initiatives to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance the overall performance of the operations division.
- Implement continuous improvement programs to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any concerns that arise.
- Represent the company in industry forums, regulatory meetings, and other public engagements.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring financial performance aligns with company objectives.
- Oversee cost control measures, financial reporting, and resource allocation to maximize profitability.
- Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
Innovation & Sustainability:
- Champion the adoption of innovative technologies and sustainable practices in power delivery and substation operations.
- Stay informed of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the sector.
- Lead initiatives to integrate renewable energy sources and environmentally friendly practices into operational processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations management, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role within the power delivery or energy infrastructure sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects with a focus on operational excellence.
- Strong knowledge of power delivery systems, substation construction, and industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Financial acumen with experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
