Role Description

The IT Specialist is responsible for providing help desk support services to both retail and corporate staff personnel.

The IT Specialist will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Answering help desk support requests via email, chat, telephone and in-person visits.
2. Travel (local and overnight/remote) to retail locations to perform duties.
3. Installing computer hardware, software and peripherals.
4. Complying with IT security policies while performing duties.
5. Maintaining adequate supplies of IT materials at all times; toners, cables, spare keyboards, monitors etc.
6. Test and handle RMAs for hardware that is qualified for repair.

The IT Specialist reports to the IT Director.

Required Skills/Abilities

Knowledge
The candidate must have a basic aptitude for technology in the following areas:

• Computer hardware and software systems and programs
• Network concepts (cabling, Wi-Fi, IP addressing etc.).

• Strong interest in technology (aptitude, can/will train).
• Minimum 1 year work history with work reference.

Pay Range: $21-$29/hr (dependent upon experience and education)

Schedule:

• Full-time including availability to work weekends and after hours (e.g. projects, maintenance, etc.)
• Flexibility is a must.
• Available to frequently travel between all Three Bears Alaska locations as needed, sometime overnight.
  • Must have own transportation

Office Location and Travel:

• LOCATION: In person
• Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Working Environment
The candidate must be able to perform the following duties:

• Continuous sitting
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching at/above/below shoulders
• Occasional bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting
• Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 50 pounds
• Considerable manual dexterity with tools
• Ability to read small type or print on paper and computer screen
