This is a part-time position with an expected billing requirement of only 20 hours per week. Must be a member of the Florida Bar and have family law experience.


Our law firm is looking for a contract attorney who is ready to represent our existing client base to work up the cases and prepare them through mediation and/or trial. Basically, get them ready for our trial attorney if they cannot resolve otherwise.


The ideal candidate will work closely with the firm’s clients, administrative staff, and senior partners. If you have the ability to handle a diverse caseload, can communicate effective yet compassionately, and use today’s technology well, please start your application today

Compensation:

$90 - $100 per hour

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence
  • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
  • Work closely with and provide leadership to administrative staff concerning client billing, client meetings and invoicing, as well as finalizing client projects
  • Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action
  • Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution
Qualifications:
  • Jobseekers should be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred Association
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is necessary
  • Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years
  • Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
  • Must have at least 3 years experience in Florida family law that you are ready to start and hit the ground running after a brief training period on our culture and processes
  • Must be licensed by The Florida Bar and in good standing
