Clear Ballot is seeking a Technical Writer to help document our voting system products. This is a hybrid position based in either Nashua, NH or Boston, MA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain technical documentation that guides election officials and voters on how to use our products and meets regulatory requirements.
• Document key use cases by interviewing subject matter experts and working hands-on with ClearVote equipment.
• Empathize with the consumers of technical documentation, both internal and external, and ensure their information needs are met.
• Understand the role documentation plays in the voting system certification process at the state and federal level.
• Enable more efficient completion of documentation work by proposing improvements to documentation processes and tools.
• Travel to various customer sites to provide support on election days.

Skills & Experience:

• At least 3 years writing and editing technical documentation.
• Experience creating topic-based documentation in a modern component-content management system that is based on technologies such as HTML, CSS, and XML. We currently use MadCap Flare.
• Experience integrating screen captures and images in documentation. We currently use SnagIt and Inkscape.
• Proficiency with a modern source control system. We currently use Git.
• Experience managing multiple documents across different product releases under tight deadlines.
• Proven track record as a collaborative, communicative teammate.
