The Role You Play

As a Client Account Representative at Pawnee, you will oversee about 1900 client accounts. These accounts will cover a wide range of insurance providers and client financial situations. You will also be responsible for preparing monthly reports on the accounts to present to the Client Account Lead.

  • The Day-to-Day
    1. Retrieve Explanation of Benefits and apply outcomes to client accounts within 5 days
    2. Efficiently note and follow up on unpaid insurance claims
    3. Establish payment plans with clients and refer problem or delinquent accounts to supervisor as needed
    4. Research and answer client and payer inquiries, and provide supporting documentation upon request – within privacy laws
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    1. Scan EOBs into a receipt log weekly on a rotating basis
    2. Attend outside training and actively participate in staff meetings with the billing team

Who You Are

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, someone who can take responsibility for their work and do it without much oversight. They must be able to think on their feet and apply their knowledge of insurance and company policy to fast-paced situations. Finally, they must have strong attention to detail and the patience to deal with clients and providers in a professional manner.

  • Required
    1. High school diploma or equivalent
    2. One year of medical office billing
    3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
    4. Willing and able to operate basic office machinery
  • Preferred
    1. Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
    2. Experience with mental health billing and coding
    3. Strong organizational skills

Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.
