Storelocal Concord has an immediate opening for a motivated and customer-focused Store Manager to lead our team at our new store in Concord.  As a Store Manager, you will serve as an invaluable member of our team by striving to build a clean, safe, and positive experience for our employees and customers.  We seek passionate and inventive leaders who set high expectations of themselves for this leadership role.

 

The Store Manager is responsible for the professional operation of the self-storage facility which includes all aspects of the store’s security, safety, maintenance, and daily operations.  This also includes the successful business operations of the store including rental of its units, sale of merchandise, marketing, and the ability to provide a fantastic customer experience in person, over the phone, and online.  This is a full-time hourly position that averages around 40-42 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:

 

As a full-time Store Manager, you oversee every aspect of the daily operations of our self-storage facility.  You will be the face of the store to our customers, allowing you to utilize and sharpen your already strong customer service skills.  You will operate every aspect of the store and build an amazing work culture. 

 

Candidates must be reliable, personable, and motivated to succeed.  The primary duties are managing the facility, renting storage units, selling retail merchandise, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a first-class facility, and assisting with basic facility maintenance.  Store Managers will also learn to operate our best-in-class property management software.

 

 Essential Functions/Tasks:

 

  • Provide exceptional customer service to current and potential customers.
  • Answer phone inquiries from prospective tenants and convert phone inquiries into site visits.
  • Show property to prospective tenants, explain terms of occupancy, and provide information about facility.
  • Convert showings to signed leases.
  • Occasional night hours to handle client issues.  Self-storage is open on weekends.
  • May be required to be outdoors for extended periods of time.
  • Handle accounts receivable, including calling on delinquent accounts.
  • Some physical activity which includes daily property walks, cleaning units, and other light maintenance.
  • Nurture talent and help lead our team.
  • Reports directly to off-site District Manager.
  • Maintaining consistent, timely, and effective communication with upper management.
  • Ensuring accurate computer accounting records, manual accounting records, petty cash funds, and merchandise inventory reconciliation.  Shortages in inventory or cash receipts are the responsibility of the Store Manager.

 

Requirements

 

  • Successful candidates will have 2+ years of experience in customer-centered selling environments (i.e. retail sales, restaurant, sales associate, front desk, site management, and/or other customer-centered sales roles).
  • 1+ year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role is helpful, but not required.
  • Previous self-storage experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach or mentor team partners.
  • Flexible schedule with weekend availability.
  • Computer experience required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Accurate filing, record keeping, and reporting experience is required.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Willingness to work at multiple facilities.
  • Must pass a company provided background screening.

 

 Short-Term Travel Required

 

  • First 3 to 4 weeks of employment may require travel to the Pleasant Hill, Brentwood, or Vacaville areas for training.
  • We will provide temporary accommodation or travel compensation depending on final candidate preference.
