This position will be filled with an LPC or LCSW.

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Care Therapist is responsible for the delivery of quality behavioral health care to patients of the Clinic and functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team within the scope of his or her LCSW/LPC or LPC-A practice.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides behavioral health services to patients of the Clinic.
  1. Performs psychosocial and behavioral health assessments of patients and families to identify, social, and environmental concerns associated with patients’ diagnosis, illness, treatment and/or life situation.
  2. Performs individual, family and group therapy sessions, crisis intervention and other education and counseling in accordance with patients' individual treatment plans.
  3. Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, patients, and family members to develop and monitor treatment plans and progress, documents significant interactions, and maintains clinical charts and other reporting data in a timely manner.
  4. Maintains knowledge of community resources and serves as a liaison in obtaining needed support. Makes referrals as appropriate and serves as resource for the health care team and resources in the community.
  5. Provides consultation and collaboration with medical providers and proactively responds to patient’s needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient health.
  6. Contributes to a culture of patient-centered care by ensuring a compassionate and recovery focused experience.
  7. Maintains working knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues that impact patient care, e.g., chronic illness, child and elder abuse. Assist with screening, identification and management of victims of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, rape, etc.
  8. Works with a diverse client population in a variety of treatment approaches and/or settings.
  9. Accurately documents the administration of care, treatment plans, and progress notes in the patient record in a timely manner.
  10. Attends trainings and workshops as required for professional development.
  1. Maintains professional courtesy at all times.
  2. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required

  • Current theories, principles and practices of patients with a variety of behavioral health and mental health symptoms and diagnosis.
  • Desire and passion to work with an underserved population.
  • Knowledge of and ability to intervene appropriately with patients who are in crisis and need a more intensive level of services.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team, interacting with patients, primary care providers, consulting psychiatrists and behavioral health professionals, as well as with administrative and supportive staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries and ethics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and on both an interpersonal and group level.
  • Wellness, recovery, and resiliency- oriented strategies.
  • Trauma-informed and trauma-sensitive.

Preferred

  • Trauma, PTSD Recovery Experience

Credentials and Experience

Required

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university from one of the following: Master’s in social work, master's in psychology, master's in counseling.
  • Current or will become licensed in the state of Texas or Arkansas (whichever is applicable to the position offered) as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, or a Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • LPC- Associate providers will remain under Supervision until clinical hours are received to become licensed LPC.
