Job DescriptionJob Description We are seeking a diligent and experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster for a direct hire firm in Independence. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling workers' compensation claims efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities:
  • Investigate workers' compensation claims by gathering relevant information, interviewing claimants, witnesses, and employers, and reviewing medical records and other documentation.
  • Analyze claim information, including medical reports, to determine the extent of liability and eligibility for benefits.
  • Evaluate the validity of claims and make decisions regarding coverage, compensability, and settlement options.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including claimants, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and internal teams.
  • Monitor the progress of claims, follow up on outstanding information or documentation, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to manage litigated claims and represent the company's interests in hearings and mediations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in insurance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling workers' compensation claims.
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and claims practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
