Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Overview: The Commercetools Architect will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, and implementation of our e-commerce platform using Commercetools. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to ensure that our e-commerce solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with our business goals. Your role will involve both strategic planning and hands-on implementation, making you a key player in the success of our digital initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Platform Architecture: Design and implement the architecture for our e-commerce platform using Commercetools, ensuring it meets performance, scalability, and security requirements. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring best practices are followed in coding, testing, and deployment. Solution Design: Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions that leverage the full capabilities of the Commercetools platform. Integration Management: Design and manage integrations with third-party systems such as payment gateways, ERP systems, CRM tools, and other relevant platforms. Customization: Lead the customization of Commercetools to meet specific business needs, including developing custom microservices, API extensions, and workflows. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of the Commercetools platform, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements. Security: Ensure that the platform architecture adheres to best practices in security, including data protection, access control, and compliance with relevant regulations. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including system diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Commercetools and related technologies, recommending and implementing improvements to our platform as needed. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a technical liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, providing clear and effective communication on architectural decisions and project progress. Skills: Deep expertise in Commercetools, including API development, microservices architecture, and customization. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python. Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and their integration with headless commerce solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and execute methodically. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of e-commerce best practices, including SEO, site performance optimization, and omnichannel strategies. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence. Experience: 10+ years of experience in software architecture and development, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Commercetools or other headless commerce platforms. Proven track record of designing and implementing complex, large-scale e-commerce solutions. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
