You will be responsible to maintain residential HVAC units, small appliance refrigeration repairs, performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs. This position also requires working knowledge of light electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance as part of the Maintenance Department.


To be successful in this role, customer service, safety and communication should be your top priority. Ideal candidates will be Certified in HVAC, and have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.

POSITION SUMMARY: detail-oriented Certified HVAC technician to maintain and repair HVAC systems. The HVAC technician will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems. You will be responsible to maintain residential HVAC units, small appliance refrigeration repairs, performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs. This position also requires working knowledge of light electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance as part of the Maintenance Department.

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
  • Assisting with queries.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
  • Working knowledge of boiler systems.
  • Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and Auto Liability Insurance. Required state licensing for HVAC technicians, certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects, with appropriate equipment (dollies, hand trucks, etc.), weighing more than 50 pounds. Frequent pushing and pulling is also required. Must be capable of using extension ladders to access roof, windows and siding to make repairs as needed.
