Job Description:

Job Provides evidence-based behavioral health services as a member of the multi-disciplinary clinical team.

JOB DUTIES:

1.Performs individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate.

2.Conducts psychosocial assessments and mental health intake evaluations as indicated.

3.Performs risk assessment and intervention,

4.Provides behavioral health consultation to members of the multi-disciplinary clinical team and to correctional personnel as directed.

5.Performs crisis intervention and de-escalation as indicated.

6.Supports and/or direct care coordination efforts for patients returning to the community requiring ongoing behavioral health services.

1.Initiates, completes, and maintains patient treatment plans.

2.Participate in team meetings.

3.Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects as requested.

4.Participates in and conducts in-service training programs, as well as assists in the orientation of new staff.

5.Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.

6.Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

7.Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.Master's degree in social work, Counselling Psychology or Other Related Mental Health discipline.

2.Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice - LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist. Must maintain all licensures, certifications, continuing educational requirements, etc.

3.Counselling experience in a correctional setting preferred.

4.BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Correctional officers provide security; however, some degree of risk of verbal and physical assault from inmates exists. As in any healthcare setting, employees may be exposed to communicable and/or infectious diseases. Inside work with periodic traveling (inter and intra state) to other locations with

exposure to weather, temperature extremes and hazardous road conditions. Frequent standing and walking while presenting or performing job duties.

Because patients need round the clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call. Rotating shifts, weekends as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required. Adheres to site/contract specific regarding on-call requirements and mandated schedules/overtime. Team members may be mandated to work shifts and/or overtime due to site/staffing or emergencies.

Essential staff is defined as healthcare and behavioral professionals that may be required or mandated to work due to site/staffing or emergencies (natural disaster, inclement weather, or other situations).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employees must be able to perform the following:

1.Required to kneel, stoop, crouch and/or crawl occasionally. Frequent walking throughout site; to include walking up and down flights of stairs.

2.Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental, and emotional) situations encountered on the job.

3.Occasional running when responding to emergencies; must be able to perform BLS.

4.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to sit, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, and talk/hear.

5.Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, good customer service skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions as needed. Must follow Corizon and departmental policies and procedures at all times.
