Napleton Oak Lawn FORD has an immediate opening for a Used Car Technician to join our team.

Experienced Used Car Technician Job Requirements:

  • Receive repair orders from internal service advisor and take to stall area.
  • Perform thorough inspection on all retail used vehicles to determine repairs or reconditioning necessary to make them front-line ready.
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty.
  • Keep timely communication with internal service advisor and used car manager to prioritize vehicles as needed.
  • Document work in a timely fashion.
  • Road-test vehicles to verify drivability and any function issues, keeping in mind what customers will look for in a used car.
  • Keep shop area neat, clean, and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.

Experienced Used Car Technician Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Multiple brand or independent experience preferred, must be able to work on all types of cars(imports, Japanese, European)
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • ASE certification is preferred
  • General mechanical skills
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA
  • All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license
