Float Medical Assistant (MA)
We are currently seeking a Float Medical Assistant (MA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Float MA will play a crucial role in delivering patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and contributing to the overall success of Denver Wellness Associates. The role will primarily be to interact with the patient during their treatment, ensuring a safe administration of treatment as well as consistent patient experience. This role will act as an extension of the provider team, working closely with providers as well as the administrative staff.
Responsibilities:
This Float MA role is primarily to serve as a technician to administer procedures in the office. Training will be provided by the clinical team. Included in this role will be:
- Documentation of the treatment
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical history.
- Tracking of referrals, and those patients that are in the queue for future procedures
- Prior authorization and support of the clinical team for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, TMS as well as Spravato and other procedures
- Interdisciplinary team communication on the patient experience, as well as the insurance coverage and benefits
- Working collaboratively with the administrative and billing team to ensure all requirements of the procedures are fully met
- Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, cooperative, sensitive, respectful and kind with all patients, visitors, the public and all colleagues
- Clerical duties such as answering telephones, check-in, checkout and record processing as requested, appointment scheduling and patient intake, data verification, office communications
- Attends staff meetings as required
- Understanding of insurance benefits, take patient payments, verify benefits, and support the billing team in gathering the information needed
- Process prescription refills and prior authorizations in accordance with state guidelines for all Denver Wellness patients and communicate with pharmacies, patients, and providers regarding the refill process
- Maintains certifications per state guidelines
- Performs duties to achieve or exceed established service standards
- Travel to all Denver Wellness locations to provide these duties and all other duties as assigned on either an as needed basis or for a pre-assigned amount of time.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid MA license in the state of Colorado.
- Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in the medical field
- Knowledge of TMS and/or Spravato would be an asset
- CPR certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Clinic or office experience preferred
- EMR knowledge
- Excel and/or strong computer skills
