JOB SUMMARY:

This position travels all over the state of Florida. Assigned tasks by Facilities Manager to complete construction projects and perform facilities maintenance. Perform the work directly or supervise crew to perform the work.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Complete projects assigned by the Facilities Manager.
  2. Expected to operate independently at a company job site and accomplish assigned job, coordination resources as needed, and make decisions at a local level.
  3. Assist in planning and review of any construction and/or any type of change to structures or fixtures.
  4. Utilize inmate labor whenever possible to reduce the cost of facilities maintenance and construction.
  5. Operate within policy guidelines of tool control and inmate management.
  6. Maintain equipment assigned to this position (Vehicle, tools, site equipment, etc)
  7. Work within assigned budget.
  8. Perform special projects as directed by Facilities Manager.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education and Experience: High School graduate and 5 years’ experience as a supervisor in maintenance/construction field. Ability to operate equipment utilized in site prep and utilities maintenance of buildings. CDL operator’s license preferred.
  2. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  3. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate and percent and interpret bar graphs.
  4. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  5. Specialized Knowledge and/or Skill: Basic understanding of all construction trades such as plumbing, mechanical, and electrical.
  6. Other Skills and Abilities: Trained to supervise inmate workers; must be able to travel to different sites to perform duties.
