Overview:As an Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding the well-being of our plant workforce. Under general supervision, you'll oversee and maintain environmental, health, and safety standards in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations.


Worksite Location:Geneva, Illinois - Onsite position

Compensation:Depending on Experience.

Benefits:Full benefit package provided

Available Shift:Must be available M-F, weekends as needed


Responsibilities:

  • Training and Motivation:Train and motivate line supervision and production personnel in best practices for housekeeping/5S, safe work procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Auditing and Monitoring:Participate in Housekeeping/5S audits and utilize testing equipment to assess employee exposures to chemical contaminants and physical agents like heat and noise.
  • Ventilation System Oversight:Manage and analyze the performance of plant ventilation systems to optimize processes and ensure a safe working environment.
  • PPE Management:Oversee the personal protective equipment, work clothing, and safety equipment programs to maintain compliance with company standards.
  • Respiratory Protection:Administer respiratory protection requirements, including fit testing and distribution of respirators when necessary.
  • Compliance Audits:Conduct compliance audits as scheduled, staying up-to-date with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation:Assist production in risk assessments, development of safe operating procedures, and conduct incident investigations as needed.
  • Data Management:Collect, prepare, and enter health, industrial hygiene, environmental, medical, and safety data into appropriate systems for analysis.
  • Training Programs:Coordinate and administer plant environmental, health, and safety education and training programs.
  • Hazard Communication:Manage the hazard communication program, including maintaining SDS's, chemical inventory, and related training programs.
  • Audiometric Testing:Administer audiometric testing and hearing conservation programs where applicable.
  • Professional Development:Maintain professional competency through participation in education and training programs.
  • Additional Duties:Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of suggested minimum experience, or a 2-year degree and 6 years of suggested minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with environmental, safety, and/or industrial health programs in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
