OVERVIEW

The Partnership Developer for the Reception and Placement (R&P) program will be responsible for identifying potential partners, conducting outreach, developing relationships and proposal development for the growth of USCRI’s resettlement network. USCRI participates in the national domestic refugee resettlement program through a network of 38 sites that provide an array of social services to promote economic and social self-sufficiency for arriving refugees. The Partnership Developer will report to the Associate Director of Resettlement and will work as part of the R&P team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct research on communities throughout the United States that are conducive to resettling refugees for the first time based on an array of factors leading to refugee safety, integration and self-sufficiency. Maintain data and profiles of communities researched.
  • Engage in consultations with state and local government employees and nonprofit staff to secure stakeholder support for new resettlement sites.
  • Secure agreements with nonprofits seeking to resettle refugees for the first-time and prepare them with training for inclusion in federal funding proposals.
  • Train nonprofits on how to resettle refugees in accordance with federal and USCRI requirements. Training will be conducted in-person and virtually.
  • Assist USCRI in submitting its annual Reception & Placement proposal to the federal funder.
  • Create outreach materials and guides and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree in the areas of international affairs and/or immigration policy, international law, or social work, OR a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least four years relevant experience;
  • Experience working with refugee serving programs and/or related programs aiming to increase access to critical resources for immigrant and underserved populations, and demonstrated knowledge and experience of immigrant needs and services;
  • Experience providing training and technical assistance;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically proficiency with Word, Power Point, and Excel;
  • Ability to work both as a team member and independently, with a high level of self-motivation, flexibility to meet goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with USCRI affiliates, national partners, and funders;
  • Highly adaptable and flexible with the ability to multi-talk and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team and independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands; and
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
