Job Summary:


As a Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our guests at the pool. This professional must be a responsible and attentive individual. This is a vital position that requires strong swimming skills, knowledge of first aid, and the ability to handle emergency situations.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures that the rules and regulations of the swimming pool are followed to maintain a safe swimming environment.
  2. Monitor the pool area to ensure the safety of all guests
  3. Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and uses automated external defibrillator (AED) when needed.
  4. Contacts emergency medical personnel when a serious injury occurs.
  5. Performs occasional pool cleaning, including pool deck, restrooms and maintenance tasks such as vacuuming the pool and cleaning the drains.
  6. Checks the pool water by conducting chemical tests; maintains cleanliness of the water by adding the proper pool chemicals.
  7. Collects applicable pool admission fees and works in the concession stand when scheduled.
  8. Provides swimming lessons when needed.
  9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a certified Lifeguard
  • Ability to swim proficiently and confidently in deep water
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
  • Physical stamina to perform rescues and assist with heavy lifting
  • Previous experience in lifeguarding or related field is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to administer or use first aid, CPR, AED, and other lifesaving techniques.
  • Excellent observational skills.
  • Ability to enforce pool regulations and rules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prolonged periods of being outdoors.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must possess the following certifications from the Red Cross or other equivalent agency: Lifeguard Training, CPR, AED, and First aid.
