The Communications Specialist coordinates, executes and creates content for public and media relation strategies. This position also develops, implements, and tracks digital marketing strategies, including social media and google analytics. This position will require excellent and proven writing skills and the ability to convey complex information to crucial company stakeholders through various forms of written communication and platforms.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Focus on Purpose: Focused on the credit union's purpose of creating financial wellness in our community through everyday banking.
  • Content Creation: Coordinates credit union blogs, website, email marketing, TV/radio scripts, newsletters, social media, etc.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide support for consistent communication with key company stakeholders, including employees, members, and community
  • Website and Digital Oversight: Provide consistent, accurate website and digital marketing updates to keep the American 1 online presence relevant and compliant; monitor ROI and analytics.
  • Drive Brand Equity: Produce and sustain a solid social media presence through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and any additional channels the credit union pursues.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate public relations for the credit union with press releases and press event planning, maintain excellent relationships with media as needed, and design and implement ongoing email and mail communications with members. Supports graphic design efforts with report design and maintenance and additional help desk tickets for the Marketing team. Follow all credit union policies and procedures, including policies and procedures for customer identification and all BSA requirements
  • Community Advocate: Serves as a credit union representative within the community and is actively visible at credit union events and credit union-sponsored events.
  • Core Process, Policy, and Procedure Review: Responsible for following all processes, policies, and procedures, including policies and procedures for customer identification and all BSA requirements.

Requirements:

  • A minimum education of high school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Proven written communication skills
  • Previous credit union experience is a plus
  • Previous digital marketing experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Knowledge in critical areas of marketing (SEO, social media, content marketing, email marketing, and SEM)
  • Basic knowledge of or ability to learn digital marketing platforms
