Job DescriptionJob DescriptionFast-paced Cardiology practice seeking Lead Medical Assistant.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our dynamic leadership team. The ideal candidate will oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, and ensure exceptional patient care standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing, recommending for approval, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining medical assistant plans, procedures, and policies to ensure the practice continually strengthens its competitive edge.
  • Ensuring staff coverage for multiple clinics and locations.
  • Coordinating time off schedules and overseeing time corrections in preparation for payroll.
  • Various reporting for administrative and clinical purpses. ​
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and distributing all documentation associated with medical assistant plans, procedures, and policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining an open communication line with all employees, customers, and vendors, while maintaining proper confidentiality, to ensure proper handling of all medical assistant issues that may arise.
  • Responsible for maintaining all records and files associated with medical assistance.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement projects in all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensures that company meets or exceeds Federal, State, and Local governmental laws, ordinances, and regulations in all areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for auditing own performance and recommending own objectives and standards of performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining an awareness of developments in the medical assistant field that relate to job responsibilities and integrating them into own practices.
  • Develops, prepares, monitors and maintains special projects and programs as requested.
  • Prepares daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports, analysis, records and databases for assigned area.
  • Obtains, maintains or exceeds company productivity and quality policy.
  • Interacts with other employees in a polite, courteous and productive manner.
  • Responsible for adhering to established “Work Rules.”
  • Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean and orderly work area.
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
  • Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), ABI, stresses, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
  • Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
  • Schedules appointments, keeps diagnostic testing and other medical records, performs various tasks, and completes insurance forms.
  • Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
  • Keeps billing records, enters financial transactions into bookkeeping ledgers, and computes and mails monthly statements to patients.
  • Any other duties of a similar or lesser nature as required.

Education and/or Experience
None required. Will train the right person.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
None required. CMA or EKG certification a plus.
