Title: IR Tech

In this role, your primary responsibilities are to set up and operate the equipment needed for interventional radiotherapy procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Monitors and assesses the patients throughout the treatment course.
• Reviews patient treatment plan and prescription prior to initial treatment delivery for quality and accuracy.
• Reviews patient treatment records prior to each treatment for prescription or treatment procedural changes.
• Performs procedural timeouts prior to administration of treatments.
• Performs ongoing quality assurance activities; monitoring for completeness of patient and department quality.
• Prepares room and equipment such as immobilization, treatment and protection devices, confirms patient identification and positions according to prescription.
• Performs morning warm up verifying photon energies, electron energies and linear accelerator functions.
• Assist physics department with quality assurance procedures as needed.
• Applies principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
• Reports operation of equipment to the Chief Therapist and Medical Physicist.
