Head STUNT Coach


Description of Position

Northwest Nazarene University Northwest Nazarene University is accepting applications for the position of Head STUNT Coach. The Head STUNT Coach is responsible for all details of operating an NCAA Division II intercollegiate Women’s STUNT program.


This is a 12-month, full-time position that reports to the Senior Athletic Administrators.


Essential Functions

  • Promotes and develops spiritual formation and leadership, academic excellence, athletic competitiveness, and community engagement in student-athletes.
  • Organizes and facilitates all training sessions, contest preparations, travel, and competitions.
  • Develops and maintains a successful recruiting system to accomplish competitive success and roster goals.
  • Hires, supervises, and evaluates assistant coaches.
  • Plans and administrates program budget allocations and stewardship.
  • Manages athletic scholarships, rosters, and eligibility statuses.
  • Organizes and operates camps and other fundraising initiatives and promotes the sport of STUNT in the local community and region.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable institutional, conference, sport-specific, and NCAA regulations and promotes an atmosphere of compliance.
  • Participates as an active member of the Athletic Department and University as a whole .
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Elite level and/or collegiate Cheer and/or Gymnastics coaching experience
  • High motivation and commitment to the University, organizational skills, the ability to self-start, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, multi-task, problem solve, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
  • The University requires that all staff members be Christians and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • STUNT playing and/or coaching experience
  • Collegiate coaching experience
  • Experience recruiting student-athletes
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and processes
  • Administrative and budget management experience

Compensation

Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience.
