Located in Salisbury, North Carolina, Lion’s Share Federal Credit Union is a full-service financial cooperative that was established in 1982 and serves the hard-working employees and retirees of Delhaize America, along with their families. The Vice President of Consumer Lending will play a key role in the credit union’s success through the strategic management and development of the consumer loan portfolio. 

What you’ll do:

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Lending is responsible for overseeing and managing all lending operations within the credit union. This includes consumer lending, real estate lending, indirect lending, and special accounts. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of lending practices and regulations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Management - Provide leadership and direction to the lending department.

  • Develop and implement lending policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Mentor and develop lending staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Strategic Planning - Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the credit union’s loan portfolio.

  • Analyze market trends and economic conditions to identify opportunities for new lending products and services.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align lending strategies with overall credit union goals.

Operational Oversight - Oversee daily operations of the lending department, ensuring efficient and effective processes.

  • Monitor loan performance and implement measures to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure high-quality member service and satisfaction.

Financial Management - Manage the lending budget and ensure financial targets are met.

  • Analyze financial reports and provide insights to senior management.
  • Develop pricing strategies for loan products to remain competitive.

Member Relations - Maintain strong relationships with members, addressing their lending needs and concerns.

  • Promote the credit union’s lending products and services to members.
  • Ensure a positive member experience throughout the lending process.


To Qualify for this position, You’ll Need:

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in lending, with at least 3 years in a management role within a credit union or financial institution.
