Job Title: Driver/Warehouse Support

Job Location: Inkster, MI

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Description:

You will report each morning, in Zaman uniform, to the Pantry Coordinator for a daily overview of work assignments and schedule. When working in the building you will perform duties such as: maintenance, stocking, and loading or unloading of vehicles.

As a driver you:

You will then obtain pickup and delivery schedules from the Pantry Coordinator or Logistics Coordinator

Pick up and unload Pantry orders, stocking in Cooler/freezer as needed

Pickup items from donors' home or offices, as directed by Warehoused manager, delivering the items to our storage facility/warehouse.

Collect donated items placed in donation bins from various townships.

Follow established procedures for evaluating suitability of donations and recording receipts of donated items.

Alert the Pantry/Logistics Coordinator in the event a change in scheduling occurs. (pickup is canceled, delays, incorrect address or transportation issues).

Submit documents (delivery receipts, pickup logs, bin reports, etc) to the Pantry or Logistics Coordinator, promptly as appropriate.

Report vehicle maintenance issues to the Warehouse Manager.

Maintain daily log of truck / van mileage.

Assist Pantry Coordinator when and as needed.

Remain accessible throughout the work shift via telephone.

Provide special event assistance when needed.

Represent the organization well when interacting with the public.


Job Specifications:

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must have a valid, active, Michigan Operator’s license with ability to obtain a Chauffeur’s license within 30 days of hire, at a minimum, although possession of a valid Michigan Chauffeur’s license is preferred and a Commercial Driver’s License is a plus. Applicants must have a clean driving record. .Applicants should have the ability to lift 60 pounds unassisted. Ideally applicants have experience in an inter-faith setting and representing an organization with the public.
