Summary of Position

A page will be responsible for providing guests with various requests not limited to driving guests to and from destinations as well as assisting guests with their packages and mailing needs. An individual working as a page should possess skills like customer service orientation, people skills, communication, and interpersonal skills, time management, problem-solving and teamwork. Physical fitness and stamina are also required to work in this capacity. Furthermore, page should be courteous and patient and have positive attitudes at all times.

Roles and Responsibilities

Job duties include; although are not limited to:

  1. Sign for incoming mail & packages.
  2. Sort and distribute packages & mail by department, location or category.
  3. Keep records of incoming packages, return address and description.
  4. Enter recipient and sender info into the appropriate shipping system.
  5. Ensure shipments and mailings go out on time daily.
  6. Track inbound and outbound shipments using various software applications.
  7. Maintain accountability using an internal package tracking system on shipping and receiving transactions, including receiving guests’ signatures for received packages.
  8. Organize and maintain mail, packages and various parcels etc. for delivery and shipment, ensure that all items can be quickly retrieved.
  9. Visually inspect mail, envelopes, packages and other items for damage, notifying Supervisor as needed.
  10. Perform other duties as needed including coverage for bellman.
  11. Open the front door and welcome the guests upon arrival.
  12. Unload luggage at the curbside upon a guest’s arrival, as well as delivering the luggage to a guest’s room after check-in.
  13. Escort guests to their respective rooms.
  14. Inform guests and visitors about the hotel’s facilities and services.
  15. Deliver luggage, messages, faxes, packages to guests; room.
  16. Assist guests with laundry service.
  17. Deliver dry cleaning to guest rooms once returned.
  18. Assist guests with getting a rental car, or calling for and to hail a cab for guests.
  19. Assist guests to buy tickets to shows, make reservations at restaurants and arrange for massages.
  20. Transport departing guest’s luggage from the room to the lobby, then into a car or taxi after reconfirming with the guest.
  21. Make sure that the lobby is maintained properly.
  22. Keep the bell stand and front desk areas clean and organized.
  23. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  24. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  25. Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  26. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
  27. Pick Up and Drop Off guests at a Destination of their choice while maintaining the distance limitations set by The Maybourne Beverly Hills.
  28. Move at a speed required to respond to work situations (e.g., run, walk, jog). Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  29. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and downstairs and/or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  30. Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
  31. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • 2 years of previous customer service experience required
  • Knowledge of City Surrounding required
  • You need a valid any class California driver's license and at least 5 years of driving experience as a licensed driver.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. (Suitcases) as the Guest of the Property will be Picked up and/or Dropped off at Airport.
  • Experience working with high-profile guests.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in and out doors in vast changes in temperature dependent upon weather conditions
  • Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50+ pounds; job frequently requires standing, bending, walking, kneeling, crouching and stooping
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks; to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists
