Job Title: Safety Assistant
Department: EV1 Operations
Reports to: EV1 Safety and Compliance Manager.
Pay Rate: $20hr
Overtime: $30hrKey Responsibilities:Safety Assistants must be able to perform all the essential functions listed below, with or without reasonable accommodation. A safety assistant typically works in environments where safety is a primary concern, such as manufacturing plants, construction sites, laboratories, transportation, or healthcare facilities. Their primary role is to assist in ensuring that all safety protocols and regulations are followed to prevent accidents, injuries, or harm to individuals and property.
- Safety Inspections: Assist the safety manager in conducting regular inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards, such as faulty equipment, slippery floors, or blocked emergency exits.
- Safety Training: Assisting in the development and delivery of safety training programs for employees, covering topics such as proper lifting techniques, chemical handling procedures, or emergency response protocols.
- Incident Investigation: Assisting in the investigation of accidents or near-misses to determine the root causes and prevent future occurrences. This may involve collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing data.
- Safety Documentation: Maintaining records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incidents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Safety Equipment: Helping to ensure that employees have access to and are properly trained in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety goggles, gloves, helmets, or respirators.
- Emergency Response: Assisting in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and communication strategies.
- Safety Communication: Serving as a point of contact for safety-related concerns or questions from employees and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Dashcam Monitoring: Assist with Dashcam Monitoring: Regularly monitor Dashcam safety alerts and cameras to identify potential unsafe driving patterns and Dashcam policy violations.
- Coaching: Assist with coaching and mentoring drivers regarding safety harsh events and other safety related issues.
- Assist with the company’s alcohol and drug compliance program.
- Other responsibilities as needed and as directed to assist with.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and routes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours
- OSHA 10 and 30 certifications preferred
- Abide by all company policies.
- Exercise caution and vigilance to avoid accidents and damage to company property.
- Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Ability to read and understand various app interfaces and documents.
- Be open to feedback and coaching from supervisors and management to improve performance and service quality. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to changes in company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean workspace.
Safety Assistants are required to have flexible schedule availability to ensure hiring needs are met. Schedules may be adjusted anytime to meet the needs of the Operations but the management will work with you to find a balanced and predictable schedule when possible.
