Primary Type of Work Performed and Nature of Business:

Specialty Architectural Systems is a specialty contractor specializing in providing and installing architectural metal and composite building products for commercial property. Such products include: Standing Seam Roof Systems, Mansards, Fascia, Wall Panel Systems, Nichiha and other associated exterior products. Because most materials are designed for exterior use, the ideal candidate should be accustomed to our climate and working outdoors year round. Due to the diverse nature of our business and the various height conditions of each project and application, the candidate will be exposed to performing their duties from heights that require the use of proper fall protection apparatus for scaffolding, walk plans or man lift equipment as best suited for project application safety. Subject to these conditions, the candidate should be conscientious of standard safety practices and attentive to the potential hazards associated with construction industry. Most materials installed are mechanically fastened and require the installer to lift, position and attach the materials to the building via power equipment and/or tools provided by Specialty Systems.

Nature and Scope:

In order to execute the major responsibilities of this position, this individual must be able to work well with others, follow direction, be reliable, responsible and posses good working skills. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable of standard tools and equipment of the trade and have a good understanding of standard construction practices including safety procedures. This position is responsible for providing a variety of diverse activities depending on the specific needs of each project. This candidate shall remain in good standing with their union affiliate and shall be bound to the employment terms and provisions established their labor bargaining agreement.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • To assist and perform the installation services as directed by foreman
  • Unload materials upon delivery
  • Follow standard safety practices and procedures
  • Prepare site and organize materials for installation
  • Help maintain a safe and clean job site
  • Maintain equipment assigned by company

This position primarily installs light gauge steel architectural metal construction products. Most materials are shipped prefabricated and are ready for immediate installation. Final design and shapes of the fabricated product vary depending on the job specifications. We are part of the Carpenters Union – which provides great pay and benefits.
