What will you be doing?

The Deputy Director of Hastings House will play a key role in leading the housing staff and ensuring high-quality services are delivered in alignment with EMPath’s policies. This includes fostering a trauma-sensitive, coaching-based, and child-centered approach while developing and implementing participant community activities.
The Deputy Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of Hastings House, including program development, staff recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision.
- Oversee and collaborate with the Director on all aspects of the residential program to ensure a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment for families.
- Hire and maintain roster of full-time, part-time and per-diem staff.
- Provide weekly direct supervision of 3 residential supervisors.
- Carry a caseload of up to three participants and provide direct services to participants.
- Provide on-call support to staff with back-up coverage if necessary.
- Provide leadership in absence of Director.
What traits do you need to be successful in this role?
- Experience working with a diverse population of women and children.
- Knowledge of issues related to domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse.
- Knowledge of child development and parenting support.
- Experience with de-escalation, crisis management, mediation and safety planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bi-lingual skills strongly preferred but not required.
Ways to stand out of the crowd
- BA in related field required, MA preferred.
- Two plus years of supervisory experience.
- Two plus years of experience working in a residential facility

Compensation: This role is budgeted up to $70,000 annually.
