Summary
- Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Setting up components for welding according to specifications.
- Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements, sequence of welding assignments, and personnel needs.
- Manages welding supply and material needs.
- Coordinates activities of employees in the welding area.
- Performs basic non-destructive inspection techniques as required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Blueprint Reading
- Understand and ability to interrupt all weld symbols
- Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools.
- 5 years welding experience with all welding techniques or completion of 4 year accredited welding program
- 2 to 5 years of Lead experience
- Knowledge of non-destructive inspection techniques.
- Skilled in verbal and oral communication.
