POSITION SUMMARY

Currently, we are seeking aPlanner II who can help contribute to the overall excellence of work coming from the firm. The Planner II performs advanced technical design and provides full support through and entire project of moderate project size and complexity


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides professional master planning consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects.
  • Analyzing natural and man-made factors affecting site development suitability for a wide range of project typologies.
  • Collaborating with other planners, architects and landscape architects to create integrated, sustainable, and equitable solutions for complex land planning problems.
  • Research and analyze data including master plan level programming and space planning studies.
  • Participate in stakeholder outreach for community-based land planning assignments.
  • Liaises with project management, other architectural team members, and consultants.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on specialized systems.
  • Coordinates with the Partner and/or Principal on appropriate technical solutions, products, and project delivery.
  • Prepares concept and technical presentations for project meetings and reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Professional degree in Urban Planning, Architecture or Landscape Architecture.
  • A minimum of four years of related professional experience.
  • Able to work at a variety of project scales from master planning to site planning.
  • Able to organize and cartoon a conceptual master planning set.
  • Able to express design ideas through hand-drawing.
  • Effectively reviews and coordinates consultant drawings.
  • Can develop any aspect of the project deliverables.
  • Technical planning and design skills and ability to direct this type of work for more junior team members.
  • Exhibits a high attention to detail and takes responsibility for delivering accurate, high-quality work.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and effectively prioritizes multiple activities with little guidance in a fast-paced, creative, and dynamic work environment.
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external clients and vendors.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and an aptitude for presenting opportunities for process improvement and technology solutions, including learning new software and systems.
  • Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to present solutions and recommendations for non-standard situations.


Desired Additional Experience

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D and GIS platforms.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience with Sketchup/Rhino/Enscape or other 3D modeling and rendering software.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu/Bluebeam Studio.
  • Experience with Deltek Project Planning.
  • Experience with sustainability focused project assessments such as SITES, Living Building Challenge, LEED, and high-performance building.
