Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Utility Crew / Project Supervisor, the Utility Crew / Project Lead will be responsible for guiding the Utility Crew laborers on the day-to-day projects around site.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead utility laborers.
  • Assist earthwork Operations / Projects
  • Communicate work plans to crew, ensuring that they are prepared and knowledgeable of projects prior to implementation.
  • Able to independently identify project needs and coordinate ordering of needed supplies, equipment maintenance, and task completions.
  • Track earthwork KPIs and present results weekly.
  • Provided verbal and written reports to Utility Crew / Project Supervisor II on progress (examples: daily shift reports)
  • Knowledge of project practices, polices, and systems.
  • Ensure all company procedures and safety policies are followed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or GED and 1-2 years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
  • Ability to work & multi-task in a fast -paced environment.
  • Experience operating, managing, and optimization of the use of small earthwork equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and meet all other requirements of the job.
  • Can move over uneven terrain.
  • The ability to work in different environmental conditions.
  • Positive work ethic
  • Maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, manage and grow the team.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Have reliable personal transportation to the site location (transportation at the site will be in company vehicles)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current MSHA.

Employees must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
