JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Welder Fabricator

Capital Pump & Equipment-is a fast-growing company in the greater Phoenix Arizona area is seeking a Welder Fabricator. The position will work directly with the department manager to fabricate, weld both new equipment, and equipment repair projects as assigned.

Responsibility & Duties

  • Weld steel, aluminum component parts with GMAW equipment as specified by blueprints and workorder with GMAW equipment
  • Verify dimensions, product specifications, and read common shop drawings
  • Read plans layout, assembly, welding of products
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack weld parts in place to secure for welding operations
  • Report and detail product malfunctions
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover any flaws
  • Occasional overtime required when needed
  • Show up to work every day and on time
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager

Skills & Abilities

  • Must be a team player
  • Must have high standards of integrity and professionalism
  • Must be familiar with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG, Tig welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
  • Must be able to weld thin gauge metals (16ga to 10ga)
  • Must have mechanical skills
  • Must have knowledge of general shop tools and equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical documents, and drawings
  • Must understand basic electricity
  • Ability to do occasional heavy lifting
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Ability to receive and carry out instructions with little supervision
  • Must adhere to safety rules and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by CPE
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Must be dependable, attendance is critical
  • Must be able to read and write English, good communication and interaction skills
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Forklift certification required within 90 days of hire; training provided by CPE
  • Experience in rental/pump industry a plus
