Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Jr. Performance Engineer Analyst to support our work in the Healthcare domain. In this role, you will assist the performance testing team with software development lifecycle and architecture, performance testing and validation, capacity planning, application performance management and problem detection and resolution.


Location: Hybrid (candidate must be able to work from the Columbia office at least 2 days a week)


Specific Residency Requirement: The candidate must have resided in the US for 3 of the past 5 years and be legally authorized to work for any employer in the US (Citizen, Permanent Resident, EAD).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system (1-3 years of experience)
  • Knowledge of setting up and maintaining infrastructure on AWS (1-3 years of experience)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure performance monitoring, scalability, capacity planning, performance optimization
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security and associated toolchain
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Office365, JIRA, Confluence
  • Self-driven to learn and apply learned knowledge to solve issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a collaborative team player

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Performance and Scalability design
  • Understanding of performance testing, especially in a cloud environment
  • Understanding of DevOps/DevSecOps concepts
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Proficiency with AWS core services (e.g., VPC, EC2, IAM) and concepts (e.g., regions, availability zones)
  • Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of Scala and/or Java – JVM, Gradle (1-3 years of experience)
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible knowledge preferred)
