Driver Support Specialist

Martin Transportation Systems (MTS)is currently hiring full-time Driver Support Specialist for our breakdowndivision. This position is great for someone with mechanical knowledge of both tractors and trailers as well as basic computer/office skills.
TheDriver Support Specialistwill be responsible for coordinating on-the-road equipment breakdowns and schedulingthe equipment for quick and cost-efficient repairs. Applicants will be working closely with drivers to ensure proper procedures and notifications are followed. Practical knowledge of tractor trailer repair and basic FMCSA regulations are a must. Previous experience in the transportation industry is preferred.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assist drivers with breakdown needs, accidents and emergencies by either routing them to terminals or coordinating roadside repairs.
- Arrange breakdown services by locating authorized vendors within proximity to ensure minimum wait time, competitive pricing and qualityrepairs.
- Communicate any service disruptions and route changes due to down equipment.
- Identify warrantable repairs and file claims with the appropriate vendor(s) or manufacturer(s) as needed.
- Maintain contact with vendor(s) during repair to ensure specific requirements are being met.
- Update all partiesregarding progress toward completion of repairs.
- Coordinate payment methods to vendors.
Requirements:
- Logistics experience a plus,
- Willing to train the right candidate
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of basic FMCSA regulations a plus
- Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite
