As a Labor and Delivery Nurse with our team, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring maternal and fetal vital signs to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.
- Providing labor support, including administering pain management and offering emotional support.
- Assisting with deliveries, ensuring that everything runs smoothly during these critical moments.
- Caring for newborns immediately after birth, supporting their initial needs.
- Supporting breastfeeding and educating mothers on postpartum care.
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation of all patient interactions and treatments.
- Collaborating closely with the healthcare team to ensure the highest standards of care are met.
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- A minimum of two years of experience in labor and delivery, particularly in high-risk settings
- Proficiency in telemetry, patient management systems, and meticulous recordkeeping
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of a background check
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Documentation for core competencies, COVID immunization, and other required immunizations
- RN license verification through Nursys
- Completed skills checklist and specialty exam
